Wallets Reimagined: ERC-8286 & EIP-8141 in Production

Duration: NaN:NaN:NaN

Speaker: Chiranjeev Mishra, Alex Forshtat

Type: Talk

Expertise: Some familiarity with the topic

Event: Devcon

Date: Nov 2026

Account abstraction has been covered at Ethereum events for years, but almost always at the protocol layer or through the ERC-4337 bundler model. This talk covers newer ground: how native account abstraction (EIP-8141 Frame Transactions) connects to the modular accounts wallets actually ship on (ERC-7579), via ERC-8286. We'll explain concrete design decisions and why they were made: why frame validators became a distinct module type rather than overloading IERC7579Validator; the SENDER vs DEFAULT frame-mode trade-off and what each guarantees for security; and how approval modes and VERIFY-frame rules work in practice. We'll also share what the open review process surfaced, including changes driven by EIP-8141's co-authors. This is timely: EIP-8141 targets the Hegota fork, so wallet teams are deciding now.
