We give a talk on our research of state-bloat in Ethereum, and moreover in the tokenomics of the XEN token (0x06450dEe7FD2Fb8E39061434BAbCFC05599a6Fb8). What does this contract cost the user (in terms of gas units)? This token has plagued mainnet, by being the biggest sized contract by far (approx 4.5 times larger than the second-largest contract!) and also by causing slow blocks due to the big (and deep) storage size. In the past we have seen similar situations with e.g. the Gas Token. What did we do about the situation then? What are we going to do about this? Is this even a problem? We present EIP-8037 and EIP-8038 along with possible future work about the topic of state creation and state management of Ethereum mainnet.
