Diamond iO: New Cryptanalysis and Efficiency Improvements—Toward Ethereum Beyond Finance

Duration: NaN:NaN:NaN

Speaker: Sora Suegami

Type: Talk

Expertise: Some familiarity with the topic

Event: Devcon

Date: Nov 2026

Diamond iO is an implementable lattice-based iO we introduced. We will first present **attacks on its non-standard assumptions, particularly all-product LWE**. We will then present recent progress toward practical iO, including concrete efficiency improvements and **end-to-end performance estimates**. Finally, we will show how practical iO could turn Ethereum into infrastructure for **trustless confidential coordination**: parties with conflicting interests could entrust secrets to smart contracts that enable them to coordinate without revealing those secrets. This could make Ethereum compelling even to people uninterested in tokens or finance.
