Beyond Crypto: Only together are we strong

Duration: NaN:NaN:NaN

Speaker: PG

Type: Lightning Talk

Expertise: No prior knowledge

Event: Devcon

Date: Nov 2026

Crypto has built incredible tools for privacy, sovereignty, and freedom -- but we risk talking mostly to ourselves. Technical innovation alone won’t bring privacy to society at large. We need to connect with the people already fighting for digital rights, free expression, civil liberties, and human autonomy: artists, activists, academics, journalists, communicators, and other communities building a freer world. This talk argues for a shift from competing for the same audiences to actively supporting and amplifying each other. Web3Privacy Now is one example of what this can look like: creating a space where technical builders, civic voices, policy thinkers, and activists meet, collaborate, and turn shared values into action. The future of privacy depends not only on better cryptography, but on a bigger, more diverse movement around it.
